Ben was a music teacher until acute mental health problems meant he was unable to work and he experienced a dramatic loss of confidence. With family support, a referral to Bedfordshire and Luton MIND and attendance at WEA courses his life has begun to turn around and he has a much more positive outlook on the future.
Ben won the WEA-sponsored Learning for Wellbeing Award at the Adult Learners' Week 2013 Regional Awards. We talked to him shortly after he collected the award. All photos accompanying the video were taken by Ben at the Eastern Region Tutor Conference 2013.
